Summary
A coalition of municipal governments filed a lawsuit against the Trump-Vance administration, challenging Executive Order 14159 titled, “Protecting the American People Against Invasion.” The order imposes fines and penalties against cities deemed unwilling to comply with President Trump’s immigration agenda. The plaintiffs argue President Trump’s targeting of “sanctuary cities” via executive order violates the Administrative Procedure Act, as well as the Tenth Amendment, the Separation of Powers, the Spending Clause, and the Due Process Clause.
