Legal Action

An anti-human trafficking organization challenged the implementation of Executive Orders 14151 and 14173, which prohibits the use of common equity-related terms in federally funded programs. Plaintiff alleges that these restrictions unlawfully interfere with its mission, contravene Congressional intent under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, and violate its constitutional rights to free speech and the separation of powers. The claims are brought under the First and Fifth Amendments, as well as the Spending Clause, asserting that the Trump-Vance administration’s actions are unconstitutional and improperly impede the use of federal grant funds. Plaintiff seeks declaratory and injunctive relief preventing enforcement of the executive orders and protecting its ability to continue equity-driven anti-trafficking programs.
