Summary

Older Americans brought a class-action lawsuit, representing Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) participants, challenging the U.S. Department of Labor’s and the Office of Management and Budget’s failure to release Congressionally appropriated funds for the 2025–2026 project year of the SCSEP Program. The failure to release funds caused the abrupt shutdown of training and employment opportunities for unemployed seniors. Plaintiffs seek injunctive and declaratory relief compelling the agencies to promptly release the appropriated SCSEP funds and to resume the four-year grants as mandated by statute.

Plaintiffs moved to voluntarily dismiss this action on November 25, 2025.
