Plaintiffs, including an immigration advocacy organization and legal services provider, and unaccompanied migrant children in the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement in Arizona challenge the Trump-Vance administration’s reported plan to repatriate these children, alleging the removals would violate due process and long-standing federal protections for unaccompanied minors. Plaintiffs contend that the plan disregards children’s rights to seek protection, access legal counsel, and appear before an immigration judge, as well as the requirement that they be placed in the least restrictive, most protective setting. The lawsuit seeks to enjoin the government from carrying out the removals and ensure compliance with federal law safeguarding unaccompanied children.
