Organized Communities Against Deportation v. Trump
Filed in: U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois
Summary
A group of Chicago-based immigrants’ rights advocacy organizations sued the Trump-Vance administration to block Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in the City of Chicago. The plaintiffs argue President Trump targeted Chicago for deportation raids because of the city’s sanctuary policies. The plaintiffs are leaders in the sanctuary city movement, and claim the raids are intended to suppress the sanctuary city movement, which would violate their First Amendment rights.
