Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility v. Trump
Filed in: U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland
Summary
Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) sued the Trump-Vance administration to challenge Executive Order 14171, “Restoring Accountability to Policy-Influencing Positions Within the Federal Workforce.” PEER alleges this executive order removes critical employment protections for civil servants, allowing them to be fired arbitrarily without consideration of merit or performance. PEER argues that this order violates the Administrative Procedure Act and was ultra vires. Plaintiff seeks declaratory and injunctive relief.
