Legal Action
Somerville Public Schools v. Trump
Filed in: U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts
Summary
A coalition of educators, school districts, and unions have sued the Trump-Vance administration to stop the dismantling of the U.S. Department of Education and the mass firing of its staff. The plaintiffs argue that the administration’s actions will decimate crucial services provided to students, teachers, and parents and are in violation of the Constitution and the Administrative Procedure Act. The case is now consolidated with State of New York v. McMahon, No. 1:25-cv-10601.
