State of New York v. Trump
Filed in: U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York
Summary
A coalition of U.S. states filed a lawsuit against Trump-Vance administration in an attempt to block U.S. Department of the Treasury (USDT) records from being shared with the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The plaintiffs allege that President Trump granted DOGE access to USDT payment systems, which contain the personal financial information of millions of Americans. The plaintiffs argue DOGE accessing the sensitive information housed by USDT violates the Administrative Procedure Act, overstepping its statutory authority and failing to follow regulations governing the dissemination of private information. The plaintiffs request that the court issue an injunction preventing DOGE from accessing any of the Treasury’s payment and data systems.
